Benefits

  • Corporate Benefits: From $2,000 to $10,000. The National Adoption Center at (800) TO-ADOPT provides information on employer benefits.
Note: If your company doesn't offer benefits to prospective adoptive parents, find other interested employees, gather information on companies who provide these benefits, and present the case to your employer.
  • EAP (Employee Assistance Program) may provide emotional and other supports.
  • Paid leave, in addition to vacation time, sick leave, and personal days.
  • Military benefits: Subsidies reimburse active-duty personnel for one-time adoption costs up to $3,000.
  • Thanks to the generosity of one of our adoptive families, eight to ten applicants are given grants to cover the Agency Fee. A $6,000 grant is available to qualified LNI applicants who earn around $35,000, are under 42 years old and have no more than two children. The "Subsidy Form" is available to prospective adoptive parents once they have already applied to the agency.
  • Supplemental Social Security is available if you choose to adopt a child with a correctable handicap or chronic illness.
